2015 Reunion Information

Hazelwood Shipmates: Here is all the information about the upcoming reunion in Norfolk at the HOLIDAY INN NORFOLK AIRPORT on April 26 - 29, 2015. Three documents that you will want to review:

3. Reservation Form - Email dd531reunion@earthlink.net and I will send this to you.

 IMPORTANT THINGS:      

1. You must make your own reservations at the hotel by calling 1-800-HOLIDAY (1-800-465-4327) or direct to the hotel 757-213-2231. you must tell them you are with the USS HAZELWOOD DD531 to get the $95.00 plus tax rate. Taxes are 14% plus a $2.00 city tax. Reservations made after March 27, 2015 will be accepted on a space available basis.

 2. The hotel provides round trip complimentary transportation to and from the Norfolk International Airport 24/7. They also provide courtesy transportation to eateries, stores etc. within a 5 mile radius of the hotel.

 3. Free parking is available and there is sufficient space for RV parking if you are driving one. All rooms have a microwave, fridge, and coffeemaker.

 4. Tour reservations must be made and paid for by March 16, 2015. Last minute participants will be accommodated on a space-available basis only PLUS a $3.00 surcharge. Naval base tour visitors MUST have a picture ID and no bags other than pocketbooks and camera cases will be allowed on base.

·        Individual photos of shipmates will be taken during arrival.

·        Coffee, Rolls, Snacks, Soft Drinks, Beer and Wine available.

·        Bull Session and Sea Stories.

·        Lunch and dinner on your own

9 AM - 4 PM – Riding Virginia Beach Tour, Military Aviation Museum of VA, Lunch at Freemason Abby, Riding Tour of Norfolk & Ice Cream Cone at Doumar's

                   4 PM – 11 PM Hospitality Room Open 

Tuesday, April 28, 2015

          9 AM –  4 PM - Nauticus, Spirit of Norfolk Cruise with Buffet & Harbor Tour, USS Wisconsin

          4 PM – 11 PM Hospitality Room Open         

Wednesday, April 29, 2015

          9 AM - 2PM  Naval Station Norfolk Tour, Lunch on Base. Commemoration Ceremony at Chapel

3 PM – Business Meeting in Hospitality Room

4:30 PM – 5:30 PM Group Photo and couple photos if you wish.

5:30 PM Cash Bar Open

6 PM - Banquet

DEPARTURE DAY  

NOTES:

1. Complimentary Full breakfast buffet up to 2 guests per guestroom each morning.

2. Restaurant on premises gives a 10% discount on dinner in the restaurant.

3. Complimentary Airport Shuttle 24/7 to and from Norfolk International Airport.

4. Courtesy shuttle for individual guests to local shopping, eateries etc. within a 5-mile radius of hotel.

5. Rate is $95.00 plus tax per night and is available 3 days prior and post event.
