I have received word from 2 more shipmates that are going to be attending the reunion. They are:
Bill Jensen, 59-61
Eric Larson, 58-60
That brings us up to 59 shipmates attending. I did have a call from Roland (Gil) Guilbault, 59-60 and he was planning to attend. However the very next day he got word that his grandson was going to be married when the reunion was being held so he had to cancel.
You may remember Gil as an Ensign who came on board in the Gunnery Dept. and early in 1961 he went to the Gyrodyne factory to become the first true done controller. He did well since he eventually became an Admiral.
I also received some sad news from the son of Charles (Chuck) Pierce, 51-55. Chuck passed away in May of 2010. I expressed our sorrow and condolences to him.
